UP! - UDBYTNING (Exchange)
Hanne Munk & Inge-Lise Ravn
9. - 30. September Installation. Snevringen, 8000 Aarhus C. Narrow passage between Studsgade and Mejlgade The artist duo has exchanged the sky in Aarhus with fragments of sky from six different cities in Japan. Denmark and Japan, each on different sides of the Earth but equally marked by climate change. The installation urges the viewer to look up. Look outward and reflect upon the climate, which knows no geographical boundaries. Pollution is not necessarily visible with the naked eye, but all across the globe we share the same Ozone layer. The installation points this out by transposing distant skies up above the rooftops of Aarhus. The artists use the passage, Snevringen, which connects the two parallel streets Studsgade and Mejlgade to draw an important connection between Aarhus and Japan. |
