UP! - BANG - du er sød! (BANG - You're Sweet!)

5.-12. August og 9.-16 September Display image. Aarhus Stiftstidende's news ticker. Banegårdspladsen 11, 8000 Aarhus C A single letter has been changed and the entire meaning is transformed. In this case into something positive. The artists play on the well known sentence BANG! You’re dead! - a famous exclamation from a traditional Danish children’s game. BANG! You’re sweet! is written instead by changing one letter. The switch and its new positive meaning relates to the never-ending stream of negativity in the media. The news today is marked by fear, worry and horrific stories that only induce fear and discomfort. We recognise the star blast from comic strips, video games and imposing commercial ads which all use the dynamic explosive star to point out drama and danger. For the artists it symbolizes the dynamics of the relationship between people. A dynamics that is most present in love. By changing the message the artists hope to influence our thinking, make us wonder and ponder on the new meaning and ultimately smile. |
