The objects on the wall consist of found objects that were specifically made to be attractive for a certain species - but also deadly: various forms of fishing hooks and baits. Beauty and cruelty are a couple that, consolingly, remains virtual in the arts and does not exploit its extreme possibilities within a deadly end. (Text: Hajo Schiff, tranlation: Michael Weh).
When I use the idea of nature or natural aspects, nature is personalised. I personalise it to make emotions, dream diaries visible and connections understandable - without giving useful results. WORKS "Klingklong, Klingklong - Sleeping under Water" Four objects made out of metal chains, concrete, black cables, a mix of papier-mâché, fabrics and black paint, and 3-5 objects (30x24x3 cm) hanging from the wall. Looking like black leafs captured in the chains, the objects might resemble waterlilys. Very different from Monet's beautiful paintings of waterlily pond reflections, the objects here are creatures of tension and ambivalence. CONTACT [email protected] www.unterburg.com |
